Hey Soul Sister: Tess Henley, a Star in Making

Tess Henley’s hands gracefully brush over her grand piano, each finger precisely guided by a natural instinct instilled within her; her voice is smooth and soulful, capable of seducing any R&B tempo whilst strong enough to effortlessly reach high notes that further enhance any listener’s experience, and if that’s not enough already, she also happens to be beautiful, many drawing a physical resemble to Katy Perry. Resembling a love child of Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse, Tess Henley has the full capability to rise to stardom in her own unique way for although she may possess similar qualities of successful and prominent musicians, she obtains a distinctive aura of her own, radiating a vixen-like charm on her listeners. Once under the trance of her enticing charisma, the possibility of escaping her musical bastille is impossible; she is afterall a queen in the making.

The Seattle, Washington native has won numeral awards for her detailed and profound lyrics whilst catching the one and only legendary producer Don Was’ imagination of success with her voice alone. The twenty-six year old Henley has recently made her television debut with “Wonderland” and “Positively Me” on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where not just any artist is allowed to walk on stage and perform, in which she absolutely wowed her crowd and the Youtube audience, many commenting with “beautiful voice”, “amazing”, and “extremely talented”.

Her originally crafted single “Who Are You” won her the title of “grand winner” in the Show Me The Music Songwriting Contest amongst various highly-talented competitors, distinguishing the potential she beholds. This song showcases the range of her jazzy voice and highlights her ability in musical compositions, clearly displaying the reason she won.

The jazzy harmonies “From the Get Go” create a catchy beat addictive to first listen, again displaying this young artist’s potential in evolving into something greater.

“Part of My Dance” is a less-known softer, sweeter side of Henley, where her voice smoothly rolls into one’s hearing, creating a comfortable, easy-listening experience, leaving one able to truly appreciate the talent she harbors.

So give her a listen and tell us what you think! Comments and suggestions are encouraged and welcomed!
